Many times in our busy lives, we are privy to tiny, everyday bits of glory, but in our haste we fail to see them ... and we miss the chance to appreciate some of the simple wonder and brilliance that abound in this world. My focus ~ pun intended ~ is on bringing those bits of beauty into the spotlight.
I see things in a different light ~ and I want my photography to help YOU see things in a different light ~ hence the name of my studio. Although I feel that floral photography formed the basis of my work at the beginning, lately I find that it has changed a bit. I use two digital cameras - a Kodak and a Nikon, and most recently, an Epson scanner to capture my pictures. I tweak my images using a couple of different photo editing programs. Very seldom does an image go un-played with, simply because it's the playing that I enjoy. To this end, you might check out my "before and after" page, because it really gives you an idea of how images change through manipulation. I like taking "what is", and turning it into "what it COULD be". If you are a photography purist, my work is NOT for you. However, if you see photography as a fluid, creative medium, and can work within the paradigm that photography is an ART - and that the photographer's job isn't merely to capture a realistic image of what was present at a particular time - then we'll get along just fine.
In the music business, singers will do their own versions of other musician’s work, and it will be called a “cover”. The way I look at it, I do covers of some of Nature’s greatest hits.
I hope you find something that appeals to you ~ something that speaks to you in someway ~ as you view my work .
~ I wish you light and laughter. ~
